Thaumaturgaea is the specific setting for DragonMarquise's hard magic stories. Note that "hard magic" means this setting has specific concrete rules and laws on how magic works and how it can be studied and used. There is a focus on learning magic much like a science or craft, refelcted in the tagline for this Story: "Scientific learning in magical arts". In addition, there is no "magicals vs. mundane" conflicts like in other series out there, here pretty much everyone has the capability for magic.
