Celestirits

The term Celestirit is a combination of the words celestial and spirit.

Celestirits are an entire species of gods, who appear to look like ball joint dolls and more often than not appear as gigantic humanoids in particular. Having some sort of object in place of a head, or otherwise just an unusual head, is also a common trait of a Celestirit. Some of them may be non-humanoid, but they are all guaranteed to be far larger than any 'average' living being, such as humans.

Origins

There is a plane of existence 'above' The Nothingness called Parawelphyr (Paradise + welkin + zephyr), which the Celestirits seem to originate from. It is described as being very bright, "almost too bright", but not much else is known about it. Some Scrivenions have managed to travel to this plane to record information about it, but unfortunately they are very restrictive about who else can learn this information.

Note that Parawelphyr is still considered a part of the Nothingness, just as much as the other planes of existence that are associated with a race in the Nothingness. Higher Deities come from a location 'much higher' than even Parawelphyr.

Abilities

Celestirits have total control over 3 aspects. These aspects can range from typical elements such as fire, water, and light, to more unusual and abstract things such as probability, sorrow, and monotony. Besides the aspects, Celestirits can also manifest objects into or out of Stories. Note that this only works on inanimate objects, not living beings. If a Celestirit tries to interfere directly with a Story beyond the manifestation ability, they run the risk of corrupting or even destroying a Story. Trying to enter a Story will result in guaranteed destruction of the Story. This is a trait shared with Eldriathans. Typically both races can also operate "puppets" in order to safely interact with Stories. While so far this seems to be a safe method, others think it is still potentially too risky.

Also note that if an omnipotent god from a Story managed to get out into the Nothingness, they still would not be strong enough to battle a Celestirit. Celestirits are very physically hardy and powerful, even besides their total control powers, and are far greater than any deity that could possibly be generated from a Story.

Examples of Celestirits

The following are examples of named Celestirits in the Storyverse setting:

  • Doña Sapphira, the creator and CEO of the Janitor Menagerie
  • Rubyo, a cruel Celestirit who is the Doña's ex-friend. His whereabouts are unknown, but what is know that he permanently stays away from the Doña's territory.
  • Emeralde, a cowardly Celestirit who is the Doña's ex-friend. Given their falling out with the Doña, they now dedicate themselves to keeping an eye on Rubyo.
  • Pumpkin, a Celestirit who resembles an unusual cat.
  • Countess Graf, a friend of the Doña.
  • The Stygian Mother, another friend of the Doña.
  • The Golden Father, yet another friend of the Doña.
