Deities of Solmundo
This page discusses the deities specific to Solmundo. The first of these deities to manifest was La Sol, hence the world was named after her.
La Sol
La Sol is the sun goddess. She has control over aspects related to the sun, such as light and heat. She was alone at first, besides the sun itself, with her simply drifting until more of the world manifested around her. More specifically, the ocean was next to manifest, and thus she meets El Mar.
Note that the word "sol" is masculine in Spanish, but here is used for a sun goddess, hence the use of La instead of El.
El Mar
El Mar is the ocean god. He has control over various aspects related to the ocean, though excluding sea life and weather. He is also strictly in control of the ocean, not freshwater.
Once he came into existence, he and La Sol eventually fell in love and got married.
La Tierra
La Tierra is the earth goddess, having control over the land, rocks, sand, metal, mountains, and so on. She manifested at first as the earth at the bottom of the ocean. She tried to fight El Mar, but he insisted there was no need for that and asked why she would feel the need to fight. La Tierra explained that she was stuck here at the bottom of the ocean, because her aspect (mostly sand and some rocks at the moment) was stuck there too.
El Mar suggested to her to simply try to move above the water, perhaps by raising the sand and rocks. Thus, she did that, starting with creating small islands. Eventually she created the continents of Solmundo.
La Vida
La Vida is the life goddess, having control over life itself, be it animals, plants, fungi, or even tiny bacteria. One day La Tierra noticed that some "green stuff" (i.e. moss, and eventually plants) were growing on some of her land, which lead to her meeting La Vida. The life goddess originally manifested at the bottom of the ocean much like La Tierra, though she came into being after La Tierra started raising land above the ocean. There's already plenty of fish and other sea creatures at this point, and La Vida decided to move onto land and create more life there.
At first, La Vida and La Tierra fought, butting heads over life and land. They eventually settled their differences and even fell in love, getting married eventually.
El Fuego
El Fuego is often referred to specifically as the fire god of this world, though he is more generally a god of energy. This includes fire, but also things like lighting, movement, and even sonic energy (i.e. energy from sound). He came into being when La Tierra and La Vida discovered a volcano, from which El Fuego popped out of.
At first he tried to spread more lava and mayhem around the lands, destroying the lands and life that the two goddesses had created so far. Eventually La Tierra beat him in a fight, which humbled him and led to him apologizing for causing so much trouble.
El Viento
El Viento is the wind god of this world, though he also has control over the weather in general. He is also thus considered the god of freshwater as well, though only by proxy since natural rivers and lakes are usually formed from rainwater.
He actually manifested sometime before La Tierra starting raising the lands. She did try to fight him herself at one point, after getting annoyed by all the rain he poured over her lands. However, she eventually appreciated the rivers and lakes that were created as a result, not to mention the canyons that were being carved out as a result of erosion. She apologized for her hostility and they actually became friends.
Sometime after El Fuego manifested, he got angry at El Viento when he encountered rain putting out some fires he tried to start (in a more controlled manner than what he did before, to avoid upsetting La Vida and help some pine trees spread their seeds (this is a real thing in reality, by the way!!)). He almost got into a fight with El Viento, but decided not to, thinking La Tierra would try to beat him again if he caused trouble. So instead, he challenged El Viento to a race. If he won, then the wind god would leave him alone!
However, El Viento won the race, though it was incredibly close. El Fuego was very impressed and gained a lot of respect for him! Over time they eventually grew closer and fell in love and getting married.
Solimar
Solimar is the child of La Sol and El Mar, their name being derived from "sol y mar". They are a reincarnating folk hero, manifesting on Solumndo as any of its sapient races. They can be any gender despite the name normally being considered feminine. Regardless of appearance, they tend to be quiet yet determined, always wanting to help people in need.
Rayén
Rayén is the child of La Tierra and La Vida, their name coming from a Mapuche word for flower. They are a reincarnating scholar, manifesting on Solumndo as any of its sapient races. They can reincarnate as any gender. They tend to be calm and insightful, though sometimes worrying too much about small details. They are often a friend and/or helper to Solimar whenever they need to work together to save people.
Humez
Humez is child of El Fuego and El Viento, their name being a combo of humo (means "smoke" in Spanish) and the -ez family name ending, which is usually equivalent to -son names in English. They are a reincarnating warrior, manifesting on Solumndo as any of its sapient races. They can reincarnate as any gender. They tend to be rather loud and brash, but dependable when things really matter. They are often a friend and/or helper to Solimar and Rayén whenever they need to work together to save people.
Madre Noche
Madre Noche is the goddess of darkness, but definitely not in an evil sense. She has control over actual literal darkness, the absence of light. She is also the goddess of secrets, safety, calm, sleep, dreams, and other related concepts.
Niño Noche
Niño Noche, often shortened to "Nino", is a trickster god and the son of Madre Noche (it was a virgin birth). He is very mischievous and likes to play pranks on others, both deities and mortals alike. He is also considered the god of luck, and many parts of Solmundo have customs for leaving offerins to him for good luck, or to at least discourage him from causing any mischief.
Las Lunas
Señorita Luna, Señora Luna, and Doña Luna are all goddess of the three moons of Solmundo. They are collectively called Las Lunas, and represent the concept of maiden, mother and crone, except in this case it's señorita, señora, and doña.
Colloquially they are known as Lunita, Lunora, and Luña respectively. One of the inspirations behind them was to have a moon deity (or deities in this case) that had no significant relation to the sun deity in the same setting.
Maria Dorada
Maria Dorada is a psychopomp, collecting souls to bring them into the afterlife. She is meant to also be reminiscent of Santa Muerte, and people can pray to her for protection from injury and early death. Her name comes from the word marigold (dorada = golden in Spanish), since marigolds are used for Dia de Los Muertos.
The Nine Scholars
The Nine Scholars are a set of Divine Nonuplets, each associated with a gemstone. While La Vida's lifeforms grew over the centuries, the Nine Scholars eventually manifested as sapient life in particular continued to evolve and develop. Though, they are not gods, they are more like demigods. They do not have "control" of their aspects, but they were still experts in their respective fields and shared their knowledge with other sapient lifeforms. Each one is associated with various aspects of civilization.
They eventually died much like normal mortal life does, but are remembered as important folk figures throughout Solmundo.

The Nameless Prophet
The Nameless Prophet is an important folk figure in Solmundo, being completely human but leaving an important impact on Solmundo. She is meant to be sort of a combination of Jesus and the Virgin Mary, the former in purpose and the latter in appearance. Supposedly she came from a world where humans became overzealous and destroyed the world out of selfishness and fanatical religious devotion.
She traveled to this world to preach and warn against that happening again in this setting, particularly trying to preach for having balance with nature and avoiding dependency/zealousness towards certain deities. She insisted on not giving her actual name in an attempt to avoid zealous cults of her own.
